Create Spatial Audio: What Does the Main Toolbar in L-ISA Studio Offer?
The L-ISA Studio toolbar is your mission control center. It provides a clear overview of your current session, system information, and essential controls. Let’s break down the key functionalities:
- Drop-down menu: This menu offers options to manage your session files. You can create a new session, load from an existing template, open existing or recent files, import speaker data, and save your work. There’s also an option to access the detailed help file and license information.
- Activity lights: These lights indicate external control activity from plugins, OSC trackers, and MIDI devices. You can pause external control globally or for specific types of commands.
- BPM: This section shows the Beats Per Minute (BPM) for tempo synchronization, which is relevant to the effects engine.
- Clip indicators: These indicators show the status of inputs and outputs. You can reset them using the clips dropdown menu.
- Status lights: These lights display the connection status of mixing consoles, plugins, and your main and backup processors.

What Can You Configure in the L-ISA Controller’s Settings Page?
The L-ISA Controller Settings Page is your command center to create spatial audio. Here, you can configure a wide range of parameters like:
- Soundscape: You can adjust parameters such as the soundscape origin, parameter ranges for pan width, distance, and elevation, any dynamic delay mapping, and your down mix pan ranges.
- Speaker configuration: You can assign speaker properties and positional information.
- Stereo mapper: You can take a stereo mix, utilize the full system resources of an L-ISA frontal system, and slowly transition it from stereo to L-ISA at your own pace.
- Binaural settings and configuration: You can configure binaural settings to hear the rendering to your headphones.
- Additional output routings: You can configure additional output routings, such as the binaural routing to the processor desktop and automatic down mixes created by L-ISA.
- MIDI settings: You can configure MIDI settings to configure which MIDI devices can send Control Data to L-ISA, such as MIDI time code and MIDI program change for triggering snapshots and reverbs.
- OSC settings: You can configure OSC settings to send and receive control information from other machines or devices.
- Desklink settings: You can configure Desklink settings to connect L-ISA to supported mixing consoles.
- Real-time tracking systems: You can configure real-time tracking systems.
- Global settings: You can define the location for auto-saved files.
Changing Speaker Layouts in L-ISA: A Comprehensive Guide
