FLORENCE — Another new business has made its way to Florence.
The city’s newest Dollar Tree location is open on South Irby Street. It’s coming alongside multiple new businesses that have opened across the city in recent months.
Dollar Tree took over the former Rite Aid location after undergoing monthslong renovations. The new spot is joining three other Dollar Tree locations in Florence.

The dollar store chain is known for offering a wide variety of goods, from essentials like bathroom items and food to extras like seasonal decorations and craft supplies, at its primary price point— $1.25. Locations have a different assortment of options each week, and some offer other assortments of items from $3 to $5.
Two other Dollar Tree stores in Florence are also located on Irby Street, so customers will be able to reach all three stores in fewer than 3 miles. Florence’s other Dollar Tree location is in Crossroads Center across from Magnolia Mall.

The new store is the latest in a string of new business openings across Florence this year.
Most recently, Downcountry Grill opened on North Irby Street inside HopeHealth’s Medical Plaza. The restaurant serves breakfast and lunch on weekdays.
Florence’s newest Food Lion opened at Florence Mall in early August. It’s just under a half-mile away from Ben’s, a bargain outlet store that opened in early July.

Other new businesses are slated to join the roster in coming months. Jack’s Books, the city’s only independent bookstore, and a unique Bojangles are expected to open this fall in downtown Florence.
Florence's newest Dollar Tree is located on the corner of Irby and Pine Streets at 204 W. Pine Street. It will be open 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday.
