⏭️ Moving in the direction of Big Goals allows you the creative freedom to apply thoughtful strategies towards success.🧭The course corrections you make along your journey are intentional and provide a subconscious compass. Even in your weakest, most reactive moments, the effects serve your core focus.⏳Taking the time to clean, breathe and frolic before, between and after moments of intense execution increases velocity.🔁 Akin to an #agile approach of cycling through identifying, planning, executing, and reviewing, you drive progress forward by leveraging passion and joy.💡Practice this way of work and before you know it, problems become opportunities and blocks transform into challenges.🙏 #followme me for leadership inspirations and mindfulness in #thefutureofwork

To hit your 2024 goals: Focus on Direction, Not Speed. Here are 3 Methods to help you stick to your goals: In sailing, there's a concept known as the "Lee Helm Effect." This principle highlights that a small misalignment of the tiller or rudder, even by a few degrees, can lead to a substantial course deviation over time. This is often the case in life. When we don’t do a clear breakdown of our goals or have clear systems to check in on them, a sway in direction can often lead to failing the goals. Therefore it’s imperative to focus on the direction: 1. Write your goals down. The easiest way to ensure we stick to the direction of the goals is to write them down. Harvard research suggests only 3% of people write their goals down. Yet those who do are 3X more likely to succeed than those who don’t write them down.Once written down, place them in an area that you will be going to daily. For me it’s at my desk. Being exposed to them constantly keeps them at the front of your mind. 2. Set Daily Milestones Once these are written out, set daily milestones that work towards your goal. It doesn’t have to be an hour of active work, it may only need to be 10 minutes a day of focused work towards your goal. This builds momentum and discipline towards your goal, making it easier to stick to in the long run. I often find waking up 30 minutes earlier to work towards your goal can make a huge impact. 3. Use Sahil's 3 Questions System This is a great reflection task my friend Sahil created in order to check your goals are still as relevant as they were at the start of the year. They are: 1. What really matters right now in my life and are my Big Goals still aligned with this?2. Are my current Daily Systems aligned with my Big Goals?3. What do I need to cut from my life to progress more efficiently?Answer these questions monthly and you’ll be far more aware of the direction you want to go in. Moving in the right direction is never easy. But it’s far better to take the time to ensure you’re heading in the right direction than going 100mph towards something that doesn’t matter to you. TLDR: - Write down your goals- Break them down into daily tasks- Reflect monthly on whether they are still relevantImage credit: Wisdom Made Easy - - - - - If you liked this content, ♻️ repost this and follow Chris Donnelly

A right direction with adaptive speed can give you your destination, But max speed with the wrong direction can only give you accidents.- You must need to have research before making decisions.- You must see the timelines and give yourself a break, Make the process go smoothly. Small term commitments can woe you long term pain.- Make sure your journey includes everyone. Remember a team player is a leader and a lone wolf is a competitor but of themselves. By team you can win the world, But even for lone wolves, if they have the right direction i.e. a vision and mission can actually break records. - I have seen 3 - 4 people who built OPC and are now earning millions. Its all because of straight forward focus, Have values to serve and missions to achieve. (OPC: One Person Company)- At last, Thanks, Chris Donnelly for these facts.

Direction is very important for achieving any dream. Having no sense of direction but speed of achieving it is very dangerous . Everyone is on their own journey. Acknowledge your journey and achieve small goals We might feel time is running fast but set small goals and don’t get overwhelmed by the larger goals. Break your goals into manageable steps and move ahead rather than no action

How can we create focus to help us achieve our goals for 2024? According to Chris Donnelly, clarifying direction is often better than speed. As my colleague once said, "sometimes you need to go slow to go fast." Writing down our goals for the year and reviewing them regularly can be very helpful. BIG GOALS can seem overwhelming, so breaking them down into daily activities using the "Swiss cheese method" can be effective. Additionally, asking ourselves important questions to reflect on progress towards our goals is essential. Here are some questions to consider:1. What really matters right now in my life, and are my goals still aligned with this?2. Are my current daily systems aligned with my goals?3. What do I need to cut from my life to progress more efficiently? Some other #ponderablequestions to consider:4. How will I know that I’ve made progress this week and moving forward with the achievement of my goals?5. What might be getting in the way of achieving my goals?6. What support do I need to help me achieve my goals?7. How will you celebrate small wins?Let's make 2024 our best year yet by setting clear goals and focusing on progress towards achieving them! #goalsetting #goals #2024goals

🚀🔍 Quality over speed: Take the time to align your path with purpose. 🌟 It's wiser to navigate slowly towards what truly matters than to rush towards empty pursuits. 💭 Reflect on your journey, ensuring every step aligns with your aspirations.Remember, the right direction leads to lasting fulfillment. 💡 Embrace the journey, not just the destination. 🌿 #PurposefulProgress

Wise advice: focus on direction and not speed - make sure you have a system to keep you focused on the direction of your goal. Direction is more important then speed1. Write your goals down. Harvard research suggests only 3% of people write their goals down. Yet those who do are 3X more likely to succeed than those who don’t write them down. Once written display them in your work area.2. Set Daily Milestones Even as little as 15 min a day towards a goal. 3. Use Sahil Bloom 3 Questions System - What really matters right now in my life and are my Big Goals still aligned with this?- Are my current Daily Systems aligned with my Big Goals?- What do I need to cut from my life to progress more efficiently?Chris Donnelly

Useful and simply described. Easy to implement. Sometimes we make it too complicated.

I totally agree 🙌 with you Dipl.-Ing. Lars Behrendt I even would take it a step further and say: You have to do both. 1. Just imagine if speed 🏎️ is the only thing you focus on: if you go full speed but in the wrong direction - you just move faster away from your goal.2. On the other hand if you only focus on the right direction 🧭 but with really slow pace you might be missing out some real good oppertunities and sometimes just come too late and the market is already split up. Although the second option seems less worse than the other. You move the fastest being mindful for your goals but do not overthink it. 🤯In my perspective there is not such a thing like 100% secure innovation but you can prevent big mistakes by thinking some time ahead instead of just act. That‘s why I think „fail fast“ eventhough I agree that action is a priority - could often lead to trouble because it only focuses on speed. What do you think?#innovation #agile
